PILATES

Pilates Apparatus (reformer, tower, and chair) offers a low-impact, full-body workout that builds strength, flexibility, and improves posture through controlled, precise movements.
Many people feel intimidated by the Pilates machines, but they are, in fact, more appropriate for beginners because they can accommodate a wide range of physical needs and limitations. Pilates equipment and methodology have been unparalleled in assisting my clients to safely recover their strength, reduce pain, and heal injuries.
Iyengar yoga is an alignment-based style of yoga that integrates props to accommodate individual physical needs. This practice creates strength and stability, while increasing flexibility.
Restorative yoga is a relaxation practice of resting deeply while being supported by props. It stems from Iyengar yoga, and acts primarily on the parasympathetic nervous system to calm the body and mind.

Contempletive yoga is an umbrella term used to describe the non-physical, or meditative practices of yoga. This includes pranayama (breath practices), meditation, and much more. The benefits of these practices are vast, and they are accessible to many populations.

SOUND

Sound Therapy is one of the most effective ways to calm and center our nervous systems. Calming sound vibrations deepen the physiology of our relaxation response. This supports better sleep, stress relief, and even hormone balance.
With the use of metal and crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, and other soothing instruments, it is an experience like no other.
I work with individuals as well as groups, including a weekly online sound bath with Providence Health's cancer-support community, and sound therapy for elders and dementia patients.

My words (to you):
Hello! It is my honor to share what has been my own healing grace: the power of sound, the gift of yoga practice, and the transformative strength of Pilates. To me, all three of these practices are integrated. They all inform me as a guide who facilitates transformation and empowerment.

My best teachers over the years have been my students. To the brave and determined people who have entrusted me with their healing journeys- I am forever humbled and grateful.
I truly love what I do. I continue to study the sciences of anatomy and kinesiology, to practice and teach yoga, and to offer healing sound in a world with an incredible need for peace.
Awakening our inner calm, being embodied, and reclaiming our strength is a necessary part of supporting our external stand for social and environmental justice. In these treacherous times, we must care for ourselves and each other.
